logoThe Instituto Navarro de las Artes Audiovisuales y la Cinematografía (INAAC) is a non-profit-making public foundation set up in 2009 to promote the audiovisual sector and filmmaking in Navarra, and the ongoing training of audiovisual professionals in the region.


The first task of the INAAC is the setting up of the Navarra Film Commission, an office that will promote, drive and support the audiovisual sector in Navarra. In the medium term, the INAAC will take on the organisation of the Film Library of Navarra with the aim of recovering, conserving and disseminatiing the filmmaking heritage of Navarra. The INAAC will also support and promote the sector and will create an Audiovisual Laboratory.

Services

The INAAC will also provide consultancy to the Government of Navarra regarding the aid published every year by the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Government of Navarra in the audiovisual field.

The Institute sets out to fulfil its objectives gradually, becoming the driver of an ambitious plan that involves a number of wide-ranging initiatives in the cultural area of filmmaking, video, multimedia and image, through strategies of disssemination, training, the promotion of artistic creativity, support for the audiovisual industry, conservation of the region's audiovisual heritage, incentives for research and development programmes, and the general development of the sector.

Aims

To achieve its objectives the Foundation sets itself the following aims (among others):

  • Support, promote and organise filmmaking and audiovisual activities in Navarra.
  • Through the Film Commission de Navarra, promote the region as an ideal location for shooting audiovisual and film productions, and help in carrying out these activities.
  • Constitute the Film Library of Navarra as a space to recover, restore, conserve, research and disseminate the audiovisual and film heritage of Navarra, thus contributing to the development of an audiovisual culture in the people of the region.
  • Promote and manage its own projects, agreements, scholarships, aid and subsidies in the field of audiovisual arts.
  • Inform about public or private aid from the European Union, Spain and Navarra that would be of interest to producers and other sector professionals, so that they can obtain access to this aid under the principle of equal opportunity.
  • Encourage communication, groupings, collaboration and dialogue among all the stakeholders in the audiovisual field in Navarra, sharing information, establishing permanent communication channels and collaborating in the improvement of the activities carried out by the sector.
  • Maintain a fluid relationship and coopoerate with any public or private bodies that have similar aims of promotion of filmmaking and the audiovisual arts. Participate in national and international forums to defend the interests of the audiovisual sector in Navarra.
  • Develop creation, increase production and favour the distribution and knowledge of audiovisual productions from the region.
  • Undertake an active policy that supports cultural content and knowledge of the history, traditions, natural spaces, tourism, industry and people of Navarra in the media.
  • Collaborate in driving innovation, research and talent, making a commitment to the progress and development of new information and communication technologies in the region of Navarra.
